The COVID-19 pandemic means that many of us are staying at home and our usual routines of catching up with friends at the pub, checking out a flick at the cinemas, or gym classes are well and truly off the table.

That being said, staying in can be just as fun and productive as going out, with Popcars tips to keep boredom at bay during these strange times.

We’ve pulled together a list of fun things to do at home and some fab ways you can spend your time indoors, from getting active to embracing your inner DIY guru, we’ve got you covered…

  • GET ACTIVE – Take a walk outside and get some fresh air or check out a virtual class. Some of our favourites include:

If music isn’t your thing maybe a podcast might be the answer to your boredom! Pop on one of these amazing podcasts and you’ll be immediately transported to somewhere much more interesting.
  • PET PAMPER – More time at home means more time with the furry friends in our lives. Make the most of it, HERE are a few ideas to help both you and your pet enjoy isolation a whole lot more.   •   BINGE WATCH – Now’s the time to catch up on the TV shows you’ve been curious about but never had the time to watch.   • PHONE HOME -Craving contact with the outside world? There are still ways to virtually stay connected to family, friends and loved ones during this period to give and receive support. HERE is how you can keep up your social life in self-isolation. 
  • ARTS & CRAFTS -Whether you like working with clay (try your hand at a stop motion video!), watercoloring, or drawing, set up a little corner to start practicing art again. Crafting and getting creative is such a great way to get out of your head.   • SUPPORT LOCAL – In these times of uncertainty what small businesses need most is customers. Here are some ways you can support your local without leaving your home:
    • Order takeout food from local restaurants or shops that offer it;
    • Buy a gift card from any local business or restaurant that offers one;
    • Buy from their website, Instagram, Facebook, Etsy page – a great opportunity to get in and do your Christmas shopping early;
    • Have a favourite Australian artist? They are also suffering in these certain times. Support them by buying their music or purchasing their merchandise from their website;
    • If you are financially unable to keep paying as usual, consider leaving great reviews online for services you’ve used, or refer them to others – it all helps!
